The launch of Tiyo Soga: A Literary History in London was held at at the School of Oriental and African Studies, sponsored by the seminar group Christian Missions in Global History of which I am a co-convenor, and the Centre of World Christianity, where I am a Research Associate , on the 6th November 2018. We were fortunate to have Professor Emeritus David Killingray as a respondent and to have the great-grand-daughter of Rev Soga in our group. Fellow academics and missionary historians were in the audience, as well as friends and their children who were remarkably quiet all night!
